New "Words of Inspiration" Poem
One Language Done
In our distant past we spoke as one
Our language was all the same
And understanding was of everyone
But to this, high and mighty we overrun
Our thoughts of self did make claim
For in our distant past we spoke as one
Our place in growth to heaven was spun
In order to make for us a name
This was the understanding of everyone
Because our need for power had begun
God decided to put a stop to this fame
As in our distant past we spoke as one
So our language of same was done
To each a different language became
And so was understanding of no one
Now our language many as one undone
Where in our distant past we spoke as one
To our glory as one did shame
For this understanding is of everyone

Inspiration: Book of Genesis, Chapter 11: 1-9. Key Verse 1: "Now the whole earth had one language and one speech" (NKJV). Key Verse 4: "And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over the face of the whole earth" (NKJV). Key Verses 7-8: "Come let Us go down and there and confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech". So The Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city" (NKJV).
